JCPenney is doubling down on its inclusivity efforts in the beauty space through a new partnership with Revieve, offering a collection of AR- and AI-powered beauty and skincare experiences.
The new digital experiences have launched a little over a year after the debut of JCPenney Beauty, a reimagined in-store and online beauty experience aimed at “amplifying diverse and inclusive brands.” With the addition of an AI Skincare Advisor tool and AR makeup try-on, JCPenney hopes to further personalize customers’ beauty experiences and “strengthen its offering as the go-to inclusive in-store and online shopping destination for diverse, working American families.”
The JCPenney Skincare Advisor leverages Revieve’s skin diagnostics technology and AI-powered product recommendations to deliver customers a personalized skincare routine. Visitors take or upload a selfie and answer a quick questionnaire about their skin type and concerns. Then the Skincare Advisor analyzes more than 120 metrics to provide users with an in-depth analysis of their skin and offer JCPenney Beauty product recommendations and skincare education tailored to their needs.
“We want to be the shopping destination of choice, offering a personalized approach that fully celebrates and honors them as unique individuals,” said Michelle Wlazlo, Chief Merchandising Officer at JCPenney in a statement. “Our partnership with Revieve allows us to deliver on our customers’ desire for personalization regardless of age, gender, race, skin tone, beauty regimen or budget.”
